Joblessness attacks one’s very identity and dignity. It can lead to poverty, crime, homelessness, depression, substance abuse, and much more.

Since 2017, we have offered Jobs for Life classes alongside local churches and organizations in order to tackle the problem of joblessness. Class participants learn a Biblical view of work. They learn the tools to overcome obstacles and to find and keep meaningful work, learning alongside their allies who help them succeed. Throughout the 8-week course, the focus of Jobs for LIfe is always on identity, character, and community.

  • Sponsor a class at your church or organization
  • Be an ally, working one-on-one with a class participant
  • Teach a class (We can train you!)
  • Serve on a Jobs for Life site team
  • Provide meals or childcare for a class
  • Participate in the business panel or community resource panel or give a mock interview

Partnering

When I was asked to become an ally with Jobs for Life in January 2020, I was intrigued by the chance to encourage a student as she bravely pursued new employment. Partnering with Jobs for Life gives me the privilege of supporting others as they enhance their skills and resources in securing desirable employment. I have participated in two Jobs for Life classes so far, and each one has been a gift in getting to know the students, learning their stories, celebrating their successes, and seeing them grow as they move toward new opportunities.
